Observations on the differences between New Hampshire loggers who have immediate families living in Québec with those who have families in the United States. Takes into account work mobility, kinship and household norms, father-absence, and conceptions of logging and family life as interrelated factors distinguishable between workers of different living situations. Presented in historical contexts of French Canadian labor and migration, as well as with a background in the cultural norms of the French Canadian family.
