From the preface: "We believe that Father Thomas Albert's book, 'L'Histoire du Madawaska,' is far more than a history book. It is indeed a piece of history itself. Its pages contain the spirit and pride that are the seeds of Madawaskan heritage, which, for two hundred years, have been nurtured by an undying Acadian tradition still highly visible in the St. John Valley today."
